How to read payment-provider reviews
Useful reports are evidence, but rarely a representative customer sample.
Identify who is reporting
A buyer asking about an unfamiliar statement descriptor and a merchant waiting for a payout describe different issues. Separate roles, products, periods and legal entities.
Do not confuse counts with rates
Search results are incomplete and can duplicate one case across several platforms. Without a comparable denominator and collection method, the number of posts does not establish the percentage of dissatisfied customers.
Read the follow-up
Look for the provider response, the author’s update, independently supported facts and the outcome. Founder and partner commentary can be useful while still requiring disclosure of the author’s relationship.
