PAYMENT FIELD NOTES
A payment-provider due diligence checklist
Questions worth answering before a checkout becomes business-critical.
Eligibility and responsibilities
Which legal entity signs the contract? Is your product accepted? Are owner-ID and bank-country requirements documented? Who is the seller, and who handles each tax and dispute obligation?
Money and failure modes
What is the complete fee stack? When does the first payout arrive? Can the provider set reserves? What triggers a review, how can you appeal and what access remains during restrictions?
Continuity and evidence
What can you export? How are subscriptions migrated? Is there a status history and incident communication process? Keep dated sources and written confirmations rather than relying solely on a sales conversation.
